Dorsett Wuhan Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Dorsett Wuhan, you immediately get that feeling of being in the right place — it’s polished without being stuffy, and the staff actually seems happy to see you. The lobby has this modern, clean aesthetic that works well in Wuhan, and honestly, after a long travel day, that matters more than you’d think. This four-star property sits right in the HongKong & Macau Centre on Jianghan Road, which puts you smack in the middle of everything worth doing in Hankou.
Location That Actually Delivers
You know what’s rare? A hotel that’s genuinely well-located without the usual trade-offs. The Dorsett sits on Jianghan Road, which means you’re walking distance from the pedestrian street — perfect for evening strolls and street food adventures. I mean, couples rate this location 9.7 out of 10, and that’s not just marketing fluff. You can actually walk to the Yangtze River waterfront in about ten minutes, and the shopping district is right outside your door. The metro connections are solid too, so getting around the city doesn’t become this whole production.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you want from a business hotel — spacious enough that you’re not bumping into furniture, with a desk that’s actually usable if you need to get work done. The beds are comfortable (not too soft, not too firm), and the bathroom has decent water pressure, which honestly can make or break a stay. What I appreciated was the attention to details like blackout curtains that actually block light and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a jet engine.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast buffet here is surprisingly good — they do both continental and Chinese options, so you’re not stuck with sad pastries if that’s not your thing. The congee station was particularly well done, and they had fresh fruit that didn’t look like it had been sitting out for days. There’s also a restaurant on-site that serves decent Cantonese cuisine, though honestly, with Wuhan’s incredible food scene right outside, you might want to venture out for dinner.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being professional with being welcoming — you get efficient service without feeling like you’re bothering anyone. The parking situation is handled well too, which matters if you’re driving in Wuhan (though I’d recommend sticking to walking and metro for most things). Recent guests consistently rate it highly, and after staying here, I get why. It’s one of those hotels that just works — nothing flashy or Instagram-worthy, but everything you need is done right. For the price point and location, it’s honestly hard to beat in this part of the city.

Location, service, friendliness of staff, good for long stays
Georges from Belgium (8/10)
Nice room, quiet as it has windows to an internal court, with adequate aircon. Central location rather close to the subway
Corrinne from Malaysia (8/10)
The location at the centre of the city where the pedestrian mall is location is excellent. It is also a short 15 minutes walk to the Wuhan Art Gallery which has some interesting exhibition. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious.
Alexander from Sweden (7/10)
Very good location right next to Jianghan road, filled with shops, food courts and a lot of people basically all hours of the day. Right next to a very big night market in the nights as well. This is probably the most popular area in Hankou, maybe even in the whole Wuhan. Also relatively close to the Yangtze river and it's park which is a nice stroll area. They have a nice gym with good treadmills. Metro quite close by.

Hotel location is very convenient just around the main walking street. A lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Easy Taxi ride to the main attractions. Got a free room upgrade with nice view. Room was very large with big window.

Great location, just off the Jinghan road. Great selection of stores, metro station, restaurants and other shops nearby. Easy walk to the river side. Overall spacious room, got upgraded to a suite instead of a room. Comfortable bed, and great water pressure. The GM on reception spoke great English! Great value for money.
