Dorsett Wuhan Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Dorsett Wuhan, you immediately get that feeling of stepping into something polished without being stuffy. The lobby has this modern, clean aesthetic that feels distinctly international — which makes sense given its location in the Hong Kong & Macau Centre. I mean, you’re right in the heart of Hankou’s business district, and the hotel definitely reflects that professional vibe while still managing to feel welcoming. The staff here actually seem to know what they’re doing, which honestly isn’t always a given in busy city hotels.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying on Jianghan Road — you’re basically planted in one of Wuhan’s most happening areas. This four-star hotel sits right where the action is, and I’m talking about serious urban energy here. You’ve got the Yangtze River just a short walk away, plus you’re surrounded by shopping, restaurants, and that constant buzz of city life. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to get around from here — the metro connections are solid, and you can actually walk to a lot of places instead of being stuck in traffic all the time.
The Rooms
The rooms at Dorsett Wuhan are what I’d call reliably comfortable — nothing groundbreaking, but they get the job done well. You know what struck me? The windows are actually large enough to give you a real sense of the city outside, whether you’re looking out at the river or the urban landscape. The beds are properly firm (thank goodness), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The bathrooms are modern and functional, with decent water pressure — honestly, sometimes it’s the simple things that matter most when you’re traveling.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast here is actually pretty solid for a business hotel — they’ve got both Western and Chinese options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety, and the coffee is better than you might expect. The hotel restaurant serves decent food throughout the day, though with all the incredible local options right outside your door, you might find yourself eating out more often than not. There’s a fitness center that’s well-equipped enough if you need to squeeze in a workout, and the business facilities are genuinely useful if you’re here for work.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to hit that sweet spot between location and value. Couples seem to particularly love it here — and I can see why, given that romantic walk along the Yangtze is right there, plus you’ve got endless dining options for date nights. The 8.3 rating reflects what you actually experience: a hotel that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but delivers consistently on what matters. You’re paying for that prime Jianghan Road location, but you’re also getting a place that feels like a proper retreat from the city’s intensity when you need it.
To book hotel in Wuhan for cherry blossom season, travelers lock in East Lake balconies perfumed with pink petals.

Location, service, friendliness of staff, good for long stays
Georges from Belgium (8/10)
Nice room, quiet as it has windows to an internal court, with adequate aircon. Central location rather close to the subway
Corrinne from Malaysia (8/10)
The location at the centre of the city where the pedestrian mall is location is excellent. It is also a short 15 minutes walk to the Wuhan Art Gallery which has some interesting exhibition. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious.
Alexander from Sweden (7/10)
Very good location right next to Jianghan road, filled with shops, food courts and a lot of people basically all hours of the day. Right next to a very big night market in the nights as well. This is probably the most popular area in Hankou, maybe even in the whole Wuhan. Also relatively close to the Yangtze river and it's park which is a nice stroll area. They have a nice gym with good treadmills. Metro quite close by.

Hotel location is very convenient just around the main walking street. A lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Easy Taxi ride to the main attractions. Got a free room upgrade with nice view. Room was very large with big window.

Great location, just off the Jinghan road. Great selection of stores, metro station, restaurants and other shops nearby. Easy walk to the river side. Overall spacious room, got upgraded to a suite instead of a room. Comfortable bed, and great water pressure. The GM on reception spoke great English! Great value for money.
