Marco Polo Wuhan Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Marco Polo Wuhan, you immediately sense this isn’t just another business hotel trying to impress with flashy lobbies. The five-star property has this understated elegance that feels genuinely luxurious without being over the top — you know, the kind of place where everything just works smoothly. I mean, when you’re dealing with the chaos of travel in a massive city like Wuhan, that attention to detail actually matters more than you’d think.
Prime Riverside Location
The location on Yanjiang Avenue is honestly spectacular, and I get why couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways. You’re right along the Yangtze River with those sweeping water views, but more importantly, you’re in the heart of Jiangan District where the real action happens. The Bund area is literally at your doorstep — perfect for evening strolls when the city lights reflect off the water. What’s really nice is that despite being so central, the hotel manages to feel like a quiet retreat from Wuhan’s intensity.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike that perfect balance between contemporary luxury and practical comfort. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame either the river or the bustling cityscape, and honestly, both views have their charm depending on your mood. The beds are properly comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms feel spacious enough that you’re not bumping into everything. Small touches like the quality linens and thoughtful lighting make it clear they’ve put real consideration into the guest experience rather than just checking boxes.
Dining and Amenities
The breakfast buffet deserves a mention — it’s one of those spreads that actually caters to international travelers without forgetting local flavors. You’ll find everything from perfectly prepared congee to Western options that don’t taste like afterthoughts. The fact that they offer free private parking is genuinely helpful in a city where finding a decent parking spot can be a nightmare. It’s these practical amenities that separate a good hotel from one you’d actually want to return to, which explains why they have so many repeat guests.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Marco Polo Wuhan apart is how it manages to feel both sophisticated and welcoming — there’s no pretentious attitude from the staff, just genuine hospitality that makes business travelers and tourists alike feel at home. The combination of that prime riverside location, consistently high standards, and attention to guest comfort creates something special. You’re paying for luxury here, but it’s the kind that enhances your Wuhan experience rather than isolating you from it. Whether you’re in town for business meetings or exploring the city’s rich history, this place gives you a solid home base that you’ll actually look forward to returning to each evening.

Magnificent view of the Yangtze River (Changjiang) from my room, which was part of my lovely memory of the city of Wuhan. The room was spacious and cozy. Staff was very hospitable and caring. The river bank park is just next to the hotel, which is definitely worth a visit for the many aspects of local life and river view.

Breakfast is normal, could be better, the choice is ok, could be made with more love. Breakfast close too fast, sometime the people come at 10:00 and could not have breakfast. It is possible to have tolerate time at the other hotels.

The location is outstanding along the Yangtze river, in the old British/French/Russian concessions of Wuhan. There is a nice pedestrian area nearby, with a lot of cafes and small shops. From the hotel it is easy to travel by taxi to the main attractions.
If possible, pick a room with a view on the river side, the night light show is fantastic.
The breakfast is really offering a lot of choice, for all tastes.Jason from Singapore (8/10)
I booked a river view room and it’s excellent. Hotel location is super convenient.
